St Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Oil Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

In this era of pollution, hectic lifestyle and severe work pressure, I think hair fall, dull hair and dandruff are some of the problems that most of the women suffer from. I am certainly no different, on top of that I have hormonal issues (which again is a major factor spurring hair loss among women these days). So I thought of trying out St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Growth Oil that claims to strengthen hair, make the hair strong and nourish it from within. Check out my experience with this oil:

“DESCRIPTION

St.Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Growth Oil is a natural luxury hair oil to help stimulate hair growth, strengthen the hair roots, revitalize the hair and add a lustrous shine to the tresses. Moroccan Argan ‘Liquid Gold’ Oil is rich in vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids and helps to unclog the hair follicles, eliminate scalp dryness and repair the damage caused by exposure to heat and hair-styling chemicals. It smoothes the frizzy hair and minimizes hair breakage and split ends. To further enhance the beneficial effect of the hair oil, various other precious natural oils and plant extracts are combined with argan oil. The oil blend forms a protective coating on the hair shafts and makes the hair soft, smooth and manageable. The nutrient-rich oil easily penetrates the hair follicles and supplies the external nourishment essential for maintaining optimal hair growth. On its regular application, it helps in strengthening the hair, and your tresses become thicker and healthier. This hair oil does not contain mineral oil and harmful chemicals such as paraben, phthalate, sulfate, and silicone. It has not been tested on animals. St.Botanica is a PETA-certified cruelty-free brand.

My experience with St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Growth Oil

Priced at Rs 1199 for 200 ml, St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Growth Oil comes in a dark blue coloured plastic bottle with pump dispenser. I got it at a discounted price of Rs 899/-

This light-weight oil has a mild and pleasant fragrance that lingers in the hair. Since it’s light weight, it doesn’t weigh down the hair strands like coconut oil or castor oil. I massage the scalp for sometime with the oil and leave it on for 1 hour or so. I don’t leave it on hair overnight, considering I have oily skin and scalp. Then I wash it off with a gentle shampoo.

While it makes the hair really soft and manageable, it does nothing significant to treat hair fall or increase the hair volume.

ST.BOTANICA MOROCCAN ARGAN HAIR GROWTH OIL: PROS

  • Free from SLS/SLES (Sulphates), Parabens, and Petrochemicals
  • Contains the goodness of a variety of nourishing oils like jojoba oil, castor oil, coconut oil, almond oil etc apart from Argan oil.
  • Makes hair soft and smooth
  • Helps treat damaged hair
  • Pleasant fragrance

ST. BOTANICA MOROCCAN ARGAN HAIR GROWTH OIL: CONS
  • Expensive
  • Doesn’t treat hair fall
  • No significant effect on hair growth/regrowth

FINAL WORD

St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Growth Oil is a decent product that helps nourish hair, make hair soft and look shiny. However, it isn’t very effective in treating hair fall, hair thinning and hair regrowth. So if you are looking for a haircare product that will help maintain general health of your hair, it will suit your purpose. However if you are looking for a product to help treat hair fall issue and really boost hair growth, you might be disappointed. Rating would be 3.75 out of 5. Also I find it quite costly and I would prefer something at a less price.
