Easy Homemade Honey Hair Masks For Dry Hair

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

If your hair is dry and you are looking for natural homemade remedies to keep those dehydrated strands moisturized, honey is surely the answer to your problem. Honey is natural humectants that helps retain moisture content and prevent hair breakage. You can always combine the natural goodness of honey with other ingredients known for hydrating properties to nourish your hair.

1.HONEY-EGG HAIR MASK

Whisk an egg in a bowl and add a tbsp honey to it. Apply the concoction on scalp (preferably wet scalp) and hair shafts. Wear a shower cap and wait for 1 hour. Wash thoroughly with shampoo and water. Do this treatment twice every week for a month or so and you will soon start noticing the difference.

WHY THIS MASK IS EFFECTIVE?

The hydrating properties of honey, combined with proteins, fatty acids and vitamin A contained in eggs help provide nourishment and create a protective layer on the hair strands, thus preventing loss of moisture.

2.HONEY-YOGHURT HAIR MASK

Whisk two tbsp yoghurt in a glass bowl and add a tbsp honey. Mix well and apply all over hair (preferably on damp hair shafts). Wear your shower cap and leave it on for one hour. Shampoo your hair to get softer and smoother hair, naturally! Try doing this treatment twice every week to see amazing results.

WHY IS THIS MASK EFFECTIVE?
The moisturising properties of honey, combined with yoghurt’s anti-fungal properties and proteins, help treat dandruff and soften hair while strengthening it.

3.HONEY-MAYONNAISE HAIR MASK

Mix two tbsp mayonnaise with a tbsp honey. Apply on damp hair and leave it on for about 45 minutes. Wash off with shampoo. Do this treatment at least once every week or twice if possible for best results.

WHY IS THIS MASK EFFECTIVE?

While honey acts as a natural moisturiser, mayonnaise is loaded with nourishing properties. Amino acids and proteins strengthen the hair and nourish from within.
