Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

I love investing in natural carrier oils and essential oils. Whether it’s sesame oil, olive oil, almond oil or just plain organic coconut oil- I love buying them, applying them on skin as well as hair, mixing them with essential oils and trying out different ways to combine them with other ingredients to make effective beauty recipes. As you can understand, I am quite impressed with the range of beauty products that Good Vibes has to offer. After trying out their facial serum and activated charcoal mask, I thought of trying out Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil.

Frankly speaking, I decided to get my bottle of Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil because it’s quite unusual and rare that one has a chance of grabbing Ginseng oil. While almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil and sesame oil seem to be readily available, ginseng oil isn’t that common; at least my experience says so. Thus, while taking a look at the Good Vibes range of products on Purplle.com, Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil happened to attract my attention and I added one to my cart!

Priced at Rs 225 for 100 ml, this pale yellow-coloured oil comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a golden screw-cap and all relevant instruction as well as information provided on the label. While poured onto the palm, the oil seems almost colourless. It is light in texture and has a mild, pleasant fragrance.

Mostly, I prefer using Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil as my hair oil, with a few drops of lavender oil added to it. At times I use it directly on my hair and scalp. It is light-weight and helps hydrate my hair shafts naturally. I prefer massaging my scalp for 5 to 10 minutes with this oil and then leaving it on for about 1 hour. Then I shampoo as usual. I can easily skip conditioner because hair doesn’t feel dry and rough post shampoo with this oil massage. I have also used it as body oil occasionally- just a few drops quickly applied on wet skin post shower to seal in moisture. I have never used it on my face though.

GOOD VIBES GINSENG NATURAL CARRIER OIL CONS

  • I bought this oil thinking it’s pure undiluted ginseng oil; however the list of ingredients clearly mentions that it’s a mixture of other oils too that include almond, sesame, jojoba etc
  • Its pale yellow colour isn’t a natural colour, it contains added colour as well!
  • Prone to leakage, hence not travel-friendly
  • No significant effect on greying and hair loss
  • Isn’t a foolproof solution for dandruff
  • Available only at Purplle.com

GOOD VIBES GINSENG NATURAL CARRIER OIL: FINAL WORD

A good oil for regular use, both for hair and for skin, Good Vibes Ginseng Natural Carrier Oil is affordable, light in texture and easy to use. However, if you are looking for 100% pure ginseng oil, you might be disappointed. Rating would be 3.75 out of 5 (quality wise I could have easily rated it 4, or even 4.25 out of 5, but the fact that it isn’t 100% pure ginseng oil is a major turn off for me)
