Lacto Calamine Oil Balance Face Wash Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

I have oily skin, prone to pimples and acne. It’s a challenge for me to maintain a squeaky clean look as my skin tends to turn greasy and shiny on the slightest pretext during the hot and humid summers of Kolkata. At the same time, since I am in my early thirties, I do not like to use something that will leave my skin dry and dehydrated in the excuse to removing excess sebum. Thus I bought this extremely budget-friendly product- Lacto Calamine Oil Balance Face Wash with Kaolin Clay Therapy, that claims to absorb only excess oil.

Priced at just Rs 75 for 50 ml, this face wash comes in a white coloured opaque tube with all instructions as well as information labelled neatly in pink and black. The texture of this face wash is soft and thick, with a runny consistency and a smell, much similar to its original classic calamine lotion. Its flip-top cap allows you to take the amount of product needed and eliminate wastage.

A coin-size amount is decent enough for washing the face. It imparts a squeaky clean feeling by removing oil and grime, keeps the face shine-free too for quite some time (around 2-3 hours). It hydrates the skin and hence doesn’t strip it dry or make it stretchy. I use it twice daily.

However, with all the goodness of neem and Kaolin clay, it has no significant effect on pimples.

FINAL WORD
