Morpheme Remedies Organic Pure Cold-pressed Neem Oil Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

Neem oil is considered to be a rich storehouse of vitamins, antioxidants and fatty acids that help treat scars, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and treat itchy scalp as well as dandruff. I have heard a lot about the benefits of neem oil for hair and skin. That’s why I decided to give it a try. I bought Morpheme Remedies Organic Pure Cold-pressed Neem Oil that I would be reviewing here in this post.

This brown coloured oil comes in a dark green plastic bottle with white and green label that specifies all information neatly. Pump dispenser makes it easy to take the quantity of oil required without any wastage.

CLAIMS MADE BY THE PRODUCT

Neem oil provides effective solutions for damaged skin and hair. The anti-bacterial formula of this natural product makes it an amazing smoother for the skin as well as for the hair.

Neem has regenerative properties which help in reducing hair fall. An oil massage to the scalp using neem oil can increase the blood circulation in the scalp and help in enhancing the rate of hair growth.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply oil on tip of your fingers and rub it gently on the base of your hair enabling it to penetrate in to the roots of your hair. Leave it overnight or for few hours. Wash with your regular shampoo or prefer a natural shampoo.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Should be used on regular basis for best and noticeable results.

MY EXPERIENCE:

The oil is effective but it has a strong smell, which is rather unpleasant. That is the reason I end up using it less frequently although, keeping the benefits in mind, I want to use it  moreoften. I mostly use it for my hair and scalp. Since I have oily skin, I do not use it on my face and for body, I am quite fond of the Biotique range of oils.

While it is quite alright to use Morpheme Remedies Organic Pure Cold-pressed Neem Oil directly on hair (or skin), I cannot tolerate the smell and so, I prefer to dilute it with any other carrier oil and add a few drops of essential oil too. I mostly mix a tbsp neem oil with a tbsp coconut oil or sesame oil and add 3-4 drops of lavender oil. Even then, the smell of neem oil tends to dominate and render the essential oil aroma weak.

I apply neem oil (mostly in combination with other oils) on scalp and hair. After a quick massage, I leave it on for about 1 hour. Then I shampoo my hair thoroughly to do away with any traces of oil residue that may be left behind. Hair feels softer and regular use is beneficial for treating itchy scalp, dandruff and hair fall.
