VLCC Punarnava Astringent Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

I have oily acne-prone skin. To control the sebum secretion and to impart a fresh feeling to my face, I am constantly hunting for toners and astringents. Recently I came across VLCC Punarnava Astringent and I have been using it for a few months. Today I would like to review the product in this post.

Priced at Rs 160 for 100 ml, this green-coloured lightweight astringent comes in a white bottle with a flip-top cap.

I use this astringent with cotton, twice a day, once in the morning and once at bedtime, before applying night cream. Interestingly, it extracts out impurities from the skin pores in a way, even better than a face wash or cleansing milk does. However, it produces a mild tingling sensation post application (and fades away in a minute). I do not have any problem with it, in fact I enjoy the instant cooling it imparts. But then, it might not be comfortable for many others and if you have sensitive skin, a patch test is highly recommended. The fragrance is quite strong too.

It helps impart a squeaky clean feeling, sans grease and dirt. It also helps control sebum, secretion and keeps oiliness off the face for a long time.

VLCC PUNARNAVA ASTRINGENT PROS

  • Affordable
  • Light-weight texture (like that of water)
  • Herbal ingredients
  • Easy availability
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Tones the skin, imparts cooling sensation and removes impurities effectively
  • Helps control sebum secretion

VLCC PUNARNAVA ASTRINGENT CONS

  • Strong fragrance
  • Might irritate skin (though it does not hold true for me)

FINAL WORD

VLCC Punarnava Astringent is a budget-friendly astringent that helps soothe skin and clean impurities, rating would be 4 out of 5. However, if you have sensitive skin, please go for a patch test before using it.
