Listerine Foot Soak

Foot soaks are extremely effective in treating hard and cracked foot skin. It helps exfoliate the rough skin and keep feet healthy. So, if you want to keep your feet soft and smooth, you must try using foot soaks at least once in a week. Have you heard of Listerine foot soaks? Well, I heard of it and I thought of researching a bit because Listerine, a popular brand of mouthwash, is a household name for everyone and it is quite easy to lay your hands on it. The best part is that Listerine is not an exotic name and that is why, I thought it would be easy making a foot soak out of it!

Listerine is known to have antibacterial and antifungal properties that make it wonderful as a component for foot soaks. In this post I would like to share with you the information I have gathered:

HOW TO MAKE LISTERINE FOOT SOAK TO TREAT FUNGAL INFECTION

  • Fill a tub with Listerine and warm water in 1 : 2 ratio. So, if you are using 2 cups warm water, you need 1 cup Listerine (decide on the quantity based on your requirements and how deep the tub is- you would need enough mixture to cover your feet completely).
  • For making your Listerine foot soak more effective, you may even use white vinegar in equal amount.
  • Soak your feet in the Listerine foot soak for about 40 minutes.
  • Use this soak once or twice every week to keep fungus away.

 

HOW TO MAKE A SOOTHING LISTERINE FOOT SOAK

  • Mix Listerine and warm water in equal quantities in your tub

 

  • Add a cup of Epsom salt to it.

 

  • Use this foot soak to soothe the muscles and treat minor irritation caused due to sunburn.

 

A WORD OF CAUTION

Refrain from using Listerine foot soak

  • If you have a sensitive skin that tends to get irritated easily
  • If you have open wounds
  • If you are allergic to active ingredients like thymol, menthol or eucalyptus
  • If you have an allergy to aspirin
