The Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub and Softening Body Butter:Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

I happened to try the Moringa range of The Body Shop products as a part of a gift set that contained TBS Moringa Softening Body Butter, Body Scrub, Body Shower Gel and Soap.

Today, I am going to review the body butter and body scrub in this post.

THE BODY SHOP MORINGA BODY SCRUB REVIEW

The Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub comes in a sturdy tub packaging, available at Rs 1195 for 250 ml. Check out what the website has to say about this product:

“Pick up our moringa scrub, to slough away dead skin cells, leaving your skin supremely smooth and refined. Its sugary texture and fresh-floral scent adds a touch of luxury to your exfoliating routine.

  • Body exfoliator
  • Smoothes and refines skin
  • Buffs away dead skin cells
  • Leaves skin beautifully soft and refined
  • Rich, creamy texture
  • Seed oil from hand-picked moringa pods”

This thick creamy scrub has granules that help in exfoliation and has a typical floral smell. I apply the scrub on wet skin all over the body and it cleanses effectively. While rubbed onto the skin, it foams a bit. After the scrub is washed off, skin feels squeaky clean and smooth that has a long lasting effect. It can be comfortably used once every week.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub Pros

  • Mild floral fragrance that lingers
  • Effective exfoliation
  • Imparts smooth skin
  • Keeps skin hydrated because of its creamy base
  • Lasts long enough

The Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub Cons

  • Pricey (I got a smaller tub as a part of the gift set that is itself priced at Rs 1970)
  • Meant only for body-too harsh for face
  • Moringa fragrance can be strong for sensitive nose

THE BODY SHOP MORINGA SOFTENING BODY BUTTER REVIEW

Available at Rs 1045 for 200 ml, The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body Butter comes in a tub packaging and this is what the official website claims:

“Dip into Moringa Body Butter for a sublimely nourishing treat. Enriched with handpicked moringa seed oil, your skin will feel more soft and supple after every use.

  • Body moisturiser
  • Moisturises for 24h hydration
  • Nourishes skin
  • For dry skin
  • Skin is left feeling softer & more supple
  • Easily absorbed
  • Fresh, green floral scent”

This buttery body cream has the mild floral fragrance of moringa flowers- quite an unusual choice for fragrance I must say when it comes to beauty products.

The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body Butter Pros

  • Floral fragrance
  • Works well on normal to dry skin
  • Travel friendly tub packaging
  • Contains no harmful chemicals
  • Gets absorbed into the skin as soon as massaged and keeps skin soft and hydrated

The Body Shop Moringa Softening Body Butter Cons

  • Pricey (if you buy it separately, I have been using a 50 ml tub that came as a part of the Moringa gift set)
  • I would prefer tube packaging for hygiene issues.
  • Fragrance may not be liked by all.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub and Softening Body Butter:Final Word

A wonderful way to exfoliate the skin followed up by the much-needed hydration, this combo can be an effective means to pamper yourself thoroughly. It is best to use the scrub first and then follow up with the body butter for intense moisturising treatment. Although pricey, the body butter and scrub is worth the money. It should be done once every week for best results. The body butter may be used daily as and when needed-Works well for all skin types, especially for normal to dry skin. The floral fragrance may not be liked by everyone though.

Rating would be 4.75 out of 5.
