  1. Lay your hands on shampoo especially meant for oily hair. This will help wash off excess oil from your scalp and hair strands while controlling the secretion of sebum.
  2. Shampoo your hair every alternate day. Make sure your hair care products allow no build up.
  3. While conditioning your hair, make sure you apply the conditioner only on the hair ends in case you experience dryness.
  4. Avoid the use of gels and serum as much as possible.
  5. Apple Cider Vinegar acts as a wonderful remedy for oily hair. It helps balance the PH level, remove dandruff and treat itchiness. Use diluted ACV as your hair rinse.
  6. Lemon juice as well as aloe vera is great for treating oiliness of hair. Apply freshly extracted aloe vera gel directly on scalp to condition and nourish your hair. You can even apply a concoction of aloe vera gel and lemon juice to freshen up your scalp in no time. Wash off after about one hour.
  7. Using beer as the last rinse helps remove excess oil from hair.
  8. If beer seems out of bounds, go for tea rinse. Tea also helps control oiliness effectively.
  9. Henna has a drying effect on hair. Mix henna with yoghurt and apply the pack every fortnight. This will not only nourish your hair, but will also help cover grey strands. Go for henna pack for your oily hair.
  10. Drink lots of water and avoid deep fried or processed food items.
