Fabindia Acne Control Clove Cream: Review

BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

Since I have oily acne-prone skin, I have to be really careful with my choice of face cream. Of late, I experienced a sudden bout of acne and I felt the need of investing in a skin cream that would take care of the demands of my skin. I was looking for a cream that would be suitable for oily skin- a cream that would nourish my skin, keep a check on greasiness and help control acne and breakouts. I happened to lay my hands on Fabindia Acne Control Clove Cream. Check out my review of the face cream in this post.

PRICE: Rs 190 for 50 ml

MY EXPERIENCE WITH FABINDIA ACNE CONTROL CLOVE CREAM

This white coloured light non-greasy cream comes in a tub packaging that was hygienically sealed. It is easy to apply and gets absorbed into the skin on being gently rubbed. It smells strongly of cloves.

When I applied it for the first time, I was somewhat scared as it caused a severe burning sensation. I feared it might have reacted with my skin negatively. I couldn’t decide what to do; I felt an urge to go and wash it off my face right away. However, I waited for a minute and soon the burning sensation faded away. It was perfectly normal. This was the case each time I would apply the cream for the initial 7-8 days, but somehow I got used to this stinging feeling and I didn’t panic anymore. May be it is on account of presence of clove oil or perhaps, that’s the way the cream works on acne. With regular use the stinging sensation stopped almost completely and now, it is an occasional thing. When I apply it, it feels absolutely fine. I use it twice daily; at times even thrice!

Only a little amount is sufficient and thus, economical to use. Skin feels soft and it doesn’t make the face greasy at all. It is just perfect for oily acne-prone skin.

FABINDIA ACNE CONTROL CLOVE CREAM: PROS

  • Affordable
  • Light and non-greasy, perfectly suitable for oily skin
  • Gets absorbed in no time
  • Shelf life is long with an expiry date after 36 months from the manufacturing date
  • Helps control bouts of acne
  • Helps lighten acne spots
  • Reduces visibility of acne with regular use
  • A tub lasts long

FABINDIA ACNE CONTROL CLOVE CREAM: CONS

  • Strong burning sensation (for the initial few days) post application that can actually discourage anyone from using this cream.
  • Tub packaging can be unhygienic, I would prefer a tube packaging
  • You may find the fragrance of clove really strong (though it is not at all a problem for me)

FINAL WORD

It is a good cream, suitable for oily skin with anti-acne benefits. However, the burning sensation that it produces can be a major turn off. If you have sensitive skin, a patch test is surely needed. Rating would be 3.5 out of 5
