Styling Bow ties: Gupshup Avenue X Indian Bow Tie Company

Whenever we think of bow ties we think of mens formal wear. From my childhood days i always associated bow ties with classy men but little did i know how a fun and quirky bow tie can totally change your outfit.

The bow tie originated among Croatian mercenaries during the Prussian war of the 17th century: the Croat mercenaries used a scarf around the neck to hold together the opening of theirshirts. This was soon adopted (under the name cravat, derived from the French for “Croat“) by the upper classes in France, then a leader in fashion, and flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is uncertain whether the cravat then evolved into the bow tie and four-in-hand necktie, or whether the cravat gave rise to the bow tie, which in turn led to the four-in-hand necktie.

So when the Indian Bow tie company sent me two bow ties from their collection i decided to team it with two strikingly opposite outfits.Honestly speaking this was the first time i tried on a bow tie and i was quite nervous about the outcome,But now I’m in love with it.These quirky pieces from the Indian Bow tie Company completely changed the look by adding the right element to the outfit.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

Indian Bow Tie Company is an exclusive brand based out of Jodhpur, India. We offer you a wide range of hand-made bow ties. We’re a bunch of people just trying to provide a solution to anyone looking for the perfect bow tie for any occasion.

Men these days are metrosexual in taste and have become extremely experimental with styling. One such man, Ankit Saboo is the brain child behind IBTC. This fashion savvy guy loves sporting bow ties with almost any attire. His love for bowties took him to various malls and boutiques across India.

And when he was dissatisfied with the lack of variety available, he decided to start a brand completely dedicated to bow ties.

FIRST LOOK: As i said earlier i always associated bow ties with formal and classy outfits .So this time i decided to pair it with a comfortable casual tshirt denim and a light jacket. This bow tie is in a beautiful shade of blue and it added a quirky factor to my casual outfit. You can ditch your neckpieces or chokers and instead pair your casual tees with a fun bow tie,i assure you it will take your outfit to a new level.

SECOND LOOK: Saree and bow tie, sounds crazy right?Thats all about the second look.Teaming a bow tie with a saree was pretty challenging but the look came out beautifully.I paired a plain cotton black saree with an ikkat shirt and let the bow tie from Indian Bow Tie Company do all the talking. And it instantly brightened and pepped up the entire look.It also added a retro touch.I must say sarees and bow ties are indeed a great combo.
