1.GLENARY’S

Known for its bakery and continental delicacies, Glenary’s located close to the Darjeeling Mall is a perfect place to hang out with friends and family. It is open from 7 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. A foodie’s paradise that Glenary’s is, it offers you a wonderful ambience and peppy Western music as you enjoy your sandwiches, hot dogs, cappuccino, and cakes. Known for its breakfast menu, Glenary’s is a perfect way to start your day. Sausage rolls to lemon tarts- there is an array of exquisite spread to be relished. The restaurant also offers a range of items- be it Chinese or Indian. 2.KEVENTER’S

Yet another century old eatery that has stood the test of time, Keventer’s situated close to the Mall area is a hub for tourists who wish to sip on hot chocolate while enjoying the cool weather of the hills. It is open from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.The terrace sitting arrangement is hugely popular.  Are you in love with chicken delicacies? Order eggs and meat loafs, chicken cutlet, sausages and lollipops. Salami toasted sandwiches and baked beans are great too! And if you are opting for the full English breakfast menu, you might have to end up skipping lunch as the portion size is really big!

3.SONAM’S KITCHEN

A tiny refectory located at a stone’s throw away distance from the Chowrasta Mall, this place is a popular eatery run by a Nepali Couple- Puran Pradhan and Sonam, his wife. This place serves breakfast and brunch from 8 in the morning to 2.30 p.m. It serves dinner from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., but no lunch is served here. For breakfast, you may opt for hash brown potatoes, egg sandwiches, porridge or pancakes. For dinner, try out the pasta with garlic and butter. In this place, you get a flavour of true Drajeeling.

 

4.THE PARK RESTAURANT
Located in Laden-La Road, this restaurant is known to serve exquisite Thai and Chinese cuisine. Toma Yam soup, flat noodles, Red Curry made with shrimp and Som Thum salad are some of the signature dishes served here. Spacious dining area, quick service, tasty food- that’s what this place is all about! Check it out next time you plan to visit Darjeeling.

5.FRANK ROSS CAFE

Now this is just the place for you if you wish to taste vegetarian delicacies. Run by a family that owns the Frank Ross Pharmacy too, this cafe serves various dishes catering to Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Mexican and Italian tastes. French Fries, nachos, paw bhaji, mixed chat, dosa, pizza- the choice is diverse! It is open from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. You can always go there for a breakfast, lunch or dinner in vegetarian style.
