BY SOMREETA MUKHERJEE

Worried about those lifeless strands of damaged and dry hair? At times, you need to take that extra step to fulfil your beauty needs. So, instead of treating your hair with those chemical-based treatments that promise visible results in a jiffy, it is better to whip up homemade hair masks that you can leave on overnight. In fact, overnight hair treatments go a long way in replenishing the lost moisture, imparting softness and repairing damaged hair.

MUST-TRY OVERNIGHT HAIR TREATMENTS

Try these easy yet effective oil-based hair masks that can be left on hair overnight and allow them to work wonders as you sleep the night away:

1

Beautiful Hair

CASTOR OIL AND ALMOND OIL HAIR MASK

Massage your hair and scalp gently with the mixture and leave it on. Shampoo your hair the next day. This magic potions help stimulate hair growth and improve the texture of your hair.

Almond oil for hair

LAVENDER OIL AND COCONUT OIL HAIR MASK

For providing your precious strands with deep nourishment, mix 2 tablespoons of coconut oil with a few drops of lavender oil. Massage hair and scalp and wear a shower cap to sleep to avoid staining your pillow covers. Wash off with a mild shampoo the next morning.

OLIVE OIL AND TEA TREE OIL HAIR MASK

Add a few drops of pure tea tree oil to 2-3 tablespoons of warm olive oil. Massage your scalp with the mixture and apply evenly on hair. Olive oil hydrates your hair while tea tree oil helps treat dandruff, scalp acne and irritated scalp. Leaving it overnight helps lock in moisture content. Wash off your hair next day to reveal problem-free hair.

Fenugreek for hair

FENUGREEK AND COCONUT OIL HAIR MASK

Fenugreek seeds are excellent for promoting hair growth. Boil a tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of coconut oil. Let it cool and strain the solution. Store it in a glass bottle and apply the required amount on scalp and hair. Do this treatment every alternate day, before going to sleep. Shampoo the next morning to reveal gorgeous hair. This concoction not only helps promote growth of healthy hair but also makes your hair shafts stronger.

There are many other hair masks that are known to work wonderfully well when left overnight. However, most of these hair masks make use of such ingredients like egg, milk, banana and curd. Imagine going to sleep with raw eggs and gooey banana spread all over your hair! Frankly, I don’t think I would be able to put up with the idea. So, in this post, I have tried to compile such hair treatments that I feel, are doable and at the same time, very effective. Try them and let us know if you liked the results!
