MAC Tropic Tonic Lipstick (Matte Collection 2015)- Review and Swatch.

Hello lovelies 🙂

Today I will review one of the power full coral lipstick from MAC Matte Collection 2015 which now perhapes is MAC’s permanent shade since 2015 summer. Those who are fan of Coral shades this will be a perfect summer shade for you, I have been craving to try this shade since I saw it on Karen from Makeupandbeautyblog, She looked so beautiful and ready for summer. I am old school, I hate summer although I always welcome this kind of deep, bright summery shade. It brightens and brings freshness to face instantly.

What MAC Claims: For those who prefer timeless glamour rather than all-out flash, the sophisticated allure of matte reigns supreme. Now, M∙A∙C expands its offering of this classic suede-like finish with 12 new shades of Matte and Retro Matte Lipstick. These lipsticks promise a pop of colour that will linger on your lips with impressive staying power.

Price: $17 USD excl shipping. I brought it for 1800 INR approx.

MAC describes “Tropic Tonic Lipstick” as a “full power coral” in matte finish. Although MAC describes it as matte but it has satin finish to it for first hour before wear down as matte. The shade is bright, a perfect balance of coral-pink-orange. The vibrancy of the shade brightens the face instantly.. I find this shade quite unusual to the collection. However most of the matte shades are the repetition of the old matte collection (now permanent).

The Texture of the lipstick is like soft velvet matte, It has satiny feel for first hour and then set as matte. The texture is smooth and glide on lips easily without any pulling effect like other matte collection lipsticks. Everyone has their own personal thing regarding lipstick texture and MAC mattes are very traditional, dense, very pigmented, rich in colour, less transfer, gives opaque coverage and super saturated.

MAC Tropic Tonic Lipstick needs only one swipe to give full on colour coverage, you can build-up if you want as per your likes. It doesn’t leave unwanted streakiness or settle into lip lines. The shade last on me more than 5 hours with meal.Overall the consistency is velvety smooth matte which is neither drying nor hydrating. (dry chapped lips need to prep beforehand).

What I like about MAC Tropic Tonic Lipstick:

  • Matte-er-the-better 😀
  • Saturated colour.
  • Highly pigmented.
  • Long lasting on lips.
  • Gives opaque coverage in one swipe.
  • Smooth and soft velvety finish.
  • Neither drying nor hydrating.
  • Doesn’t settle into liplines.
  • Beautiful bright coral –summery-shade.
  • Latest addition to MAC’s permanent matte lipstick range.
  • The shade will suit most skin colour.

What I don’t like about MAC Tropic Tonic Lipstick:

  • Availability.
  • Price.

Rating: 4.7/5
