  • Coconut oil and lemon juice– Mix 2tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Use this mixture on scalp. Massage well and wash off after twenty minutes. Do it thrice every week. Coconut oil has anti fungal and moisturizing properties while lemon juice has citric acid that helps relieve dandruff. Try this treatment for those dry and itchy flakes.
  • Fenugreek and lemon juice-Prepare a paste by combining lemon juice with fenugreek seed powder in equal quantities. Apply it on scalp and wait for about 20 minutes. Rinse well. This treatment is wonderful for oily and sticky dandruff.

  • Baking soda paste- Baking soda is alkaline in nature and its mild exfoliating properties not only help in doing away with the dead skin cells but also regulate oil secretion on the scalp. When you are suffering from severe dandruff and yet your scalp tends to revolt at the slightest use of oil, try this remedy. Mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with a few drops of water. Apply the paste on scalp and massage for a couple of minutes. Rinse properly.
  • Curd and black pepper-Did you know that curd when mixed with black peppercorns make an effective dandruff treatment? Blend 2 teaspoons of powdered black pepper with a cup of curd and apply this anti-fungal pack on scalp and hair. Wash off after 30 minutes to relieve scalp flakes.
  • Tulsi and amla– Blend a few tulsi leaves and amla powder with water. Apply the mixture on scalp and wait for 30 minutes. Scalp is purified and feels fresh! Try out this homemade dandruff treatment.

Easy Tips To Help You Treat Dandruff At Home

  • Tea tree oil– Add 2 to 3 drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo to make the most of the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of this wonder oil. This oil is known to work wonders for treating dandruff.
  • ACV rinse– Go for an apple cider vinegar rinse. Mix ACV with plan water and use it as a final rinse after shampooing your hair.
  • Neem treatment– Boil neem leaves in water and cool the solution. Filter out the liquid and use it to wash your hair once in a while.
  • Aloe vera gel– Applying fresh aloe vera gel on scalp not only helps relive mild dandruff but soothes itchy and flaky skin too.
  • Olive oil massage– If you know that dandruff is caused mainly because of dry scalp, massage your scalp well with warm olive oil and leave it overnight. You may add a few drops of peppermint essential oil, thyme oil or rosemary essential oil. Shampoo next day to remove build up and traces of oil from scalp and hair.
