NYX Matte Lipstick Bloody Mary~ Review and swatches

There is something about bold lips that is so eye-catching. I love bright colors, although I don’t wear them regularly. But when I do, I pair any of them up with a monochrome outfit which look classy. So, on today’s post, I would be sharing one such shade and it is the NYX Matte Lipstick in the shade Bloody Mary. So come on! Let’s get in to the review then.

My take on the NYX Matte Lipstick Bloody Mary: This baby comes sealed in a plastic black tube with a transparent band where the shade of the lipstick is peekaboo making it easy to trace. A sticker has been placed at the bottom of the tube. The packaging is slightly flimsy which I personally don’t mind as the tube is kind of adorable. It is so lightweight and travel friendly.

Color: The shade Bloody Mary is true to its name. It is a bright red lipstick that has a good amount of pink undertone. This is such a flattering color for our Indian skin tones. It perks up my face in an instant and makes me appear cheerful even when I’m not. 😛  I’m literally in love with this shade and yes, i’ll be wearing it a lot during the upcoming pujas.

Texture: The deeper color from this range has a better formula than the lighter ones. Bloody Mary has a creamy texture that goes smoothly over my lips and settles into a creamy matte which is super comfortable and it doesn’t bug like other red lipsticks that I have used.  I like how it doesn’t leave any kind of patchy tint behind  so yay!  Brownie points!!

Pigmentation: Oh My GIRL!!! TALK ABOUT THE SATURATION! As seen on the swatches below, you can very well see the crazy opacity. It goes completely opaque in a single swipe.

Staying power: It stays put for 5 to 6 hours on me since it is a matte lipstick that doesn’t bug easily. A retouch is not even required.
