My take on the Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette:

This palette comes in a 12 pan rectangular black case with a peekaboo flip top where all the colors are revealed through it. The description and the ingredient has been mentioned at the back of the case and since the packaging is made out of plastic, it wouldn’t shatter while travelling unless you go crazy.  There are no names or numbers given to identify the shades unlike other palletes. Nevertheless, that is not an issue for me. The colors are placed systematically in the case in a Duos, Trios and Quads style. An applicator brush comes in the pan which I think is of no use at all.

Pigmentation and texture: The color payoff is decent. The lighter shades are quite chalky and less pigmented compared to the darker ones. You need a couple of swipes for creating the smokey eyes look. Deeper shades are very well saturated and one swipe does a good job as seen on the swatches below. The formula is satiny soft on most of the shades and those are the colors I have my heart set on, thankfully.  But having said that,  some of them are difficult to work that can’t be blended well and makes it appear chalky.

Scent: There is absolutely no weird scent!

Staying power: Since I have oily eyelids, I need a primer while wearing on such shades and it last for 3 to 4 hours on me. The lighter shades ain’t well pigmented so it will fade away and would need a retouch. It will last longer depending on the skin type.

Coming to the shades:

The top row ( Left to Right):

1. Frosty beige with white shimmers 2. Medium satin taupe 3. Matte cream 4. Shimmery bronze 5. Matte greyish taupe 6.  Matte Medium grey

The bottom row ( Left to Right):

1. Frosty medium brown  2. Matte deep brown 3.Shimmery Light Gold 4. Deep taupe brown 5.Frosty cream 6. Matte Black

Lovely N*** colors

Good saturation on some

Soft formula on some

Ideal for day as well as night

Travel friendly

Great for a smokey look

The color variation would complement a lot of Indian skin tones

Some of the shades are chalky

Lighter ones need couple of swipes for the color to build up

Lasting power

Rating: 3.9/5

Recommendation: Some of the shades are great to work on and those are the colors I liked  while the others are a bummer.  But I would still recommend it. You can give it a try as it might work out for you!
