Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Sparkle~Smokey Topaz~Review and Swatches

Bobbi Brown is one of the best cosmetic brands known to beauty enthusiasts all over the world. Personally, I too love and own a lot of their products. So, today I’ll be talking about one such product that I share a love/hate relationship with and it is the Long-Wear Gel Sparkle in the shade Smokey Topaz from the house of Bobbi Brown.

Description: Shadow and liner get together to deliver definition and drama — a multidimensional eye with rich color and build able sparkle. Smudge, smoke, line or define for longwearing, standout eyes in five eye-catching shades: Night Sky, Thunderstorm, Sunlit Bronze, Smokey Topaz and Midnight Forest.

A unique blend of rich, pearl-infused pigments delivers intense color that stands up to sweat and humidity. The creamy formula lasts up to 12 hours without smudging, streaking or creasing.

For flawless application, use the new dual-ended Cream Smudge/Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. Starting with the Cream Smudge Brush, apply product all over the lid. Then use the Ultra Fine Eye Liner end of the brush to apply product along the lash line.

Price: 38US $ (4g)

My take on Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Sparkle Smokey Topaz It comes sealed in a black colored glass tub with a screw lid. Although the packaging is made out of glass, it doesn’t break or crack easily. I’m quite clumsy and have dropped it a couple of times but it is still intact. The description is mentioned on a sticker and placed right at the bottom of the tub. The packaging is very much similar to that of the M.A.C Gel Liners.

Color:  Smokey Topaz is a gorgeous metallic brown in shade infused with tons and tons of shimmers. It is ideal for clubbing or for special occasion. This shadow has versatility since it can be worn as a liner and an eye shadow. It can be used to create a smokey look as well with the help of a good smudge brush.

Texture: The formula is creamy in consistency , which glides over my lids with absolutely no discomfort and offers a smudge free application. The shimmers present in it don’t have any gritty feel to it. The only problem I faced with this product was that it creased on my lids even though Bobbi Brown claims it to be creaseless. I would recommend a good primer prior application to avoid creasing.

Pigmentation: It has a good color payoff and goes completely opaque in two swipes.

Staying power: It lasted for an entire day on me despite oily eyelids. How amazing is that! A good makeup remover is required for removal.

The good things:

Stunning color

Dreamy application

Smudge free

Travel friendly

Creamy texture

Good Color payoff

The bad things:

It tends to crease without primer

Rating: 3.5/5

Recommendation: Skeptical! I hate it because it creases but I love everything else about it! If I have to recommend, then I would say no. There are many dupes out there that you can try.
