  • I add 5-6 drops of lavender oil to my bucket of water and use it for an aromatic bath. A simple bathing experience becomes revitalizing. (However, I refrain from using it in my bath in the morning when I have to go out to work. It might make me feel like dozing off again! I always go for a lavender bath after I come back home from my school.)
  • After a tiring day, I often use lavender oil as a sleeping aid. I pour 2 drops of lavender oil on my pillow and doze off in no time. My bedroom smells like spa!
  • Since lavender is known to alleviate symptoms of acne and balance the production of sebum, I try to incorporate it in my skincare regime. Generally, I use a good quality night cream before I go to bed. I just add a drop or 2 of this lavender oil, mix it well and then apply it on my face. It produces a soothing effect on my skin as well as my senses. Regular use of lavender essential oil (in combination with tea tree oil) has helped in relieving my acne to some extent.
  • When I am too lazy to make a homemade hair conditioner or hair rinse, I generally add 4-5 drops of lavender oil to a mug of water and use it as the last rinse after shampooing my hair. A lingering fragrance accompanies my hair that feels soft and moisturized.
  • Once in a while, I add a few drops of lavender essential oil to my body oil and massage my skin with it. I love the aroma and at the same time, the body oil becomes extra-nourishing.
  • Whenever I prepare a face pack at home, I add a drop of lavender oil as an ingredient.

Please note: Always dilute the oil before using. Do not use it directly on skin.

  • It is quite affordable at Rs 147 for a 10 ml bottle. In fact most of the other reputed brands offer Lavender essential oil at higher prices.
  • Packaging is standard and neat.
  • The aroma is pleasant.
  • One bottle would last for months, hence, cost effective!
  • It can be effectively used in a number of homemade treatments and uses.
  • It delivers what it claims.

  • Not any as such.

(Though Aroma Treasures lavender oil is easily available in leading online shopping sites, I haven’t come across this product in local cosmetic stores. I am quite comfortable with online shopping, hence it is not a problem for me. But for others it may be a con. Moreover, it is possible that it is available in local stores and it is just a coincidence that I haven’t been able to see them.)

  • Calming effect: Rubbing a few drops of lavender essential oils in cupped hands and inhaling it is known to have a calming effect. For an immediate comforting effect on body, rub on temples, wrists and feet.
  • Treat cuts and insect bites: Suffering from a bee sting or insect bite? Got a minor cut? Apply a drop of lavender oil in the affected area to stop itching, stop bleeding, kill bacteria and reduce swelling.
  • Treat minor burn: Apply 2 drops of lavender oil on a minor burn would help decrease pain.
  • Treat dandruff: Mix a few drops of lavender oil with coconut oil and apply on scalp to treat dandruff.
