TOP TEN THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN GOA

1.A DAY AT YOUR FAVOURITE BEACH:
Beaches form the main attraction of Goa. Make sure you spend quality time at a beach that adds to your comfort as well as your sense of pleasure. I love serene and peaceful atmosphere. I love to sit and watch the soft rolls of water spatter on the sands. I love to enjoy the beauty of nature with my loved one and hence, I chose to spend as much time as possible at the Colva beach. The best part of Colva in South Goa is that you get everything you need and yet, nobody barges into your privacy; you have many people around and yet you can relish your solitary sojourn with the tranquil sea and the unruffled waves. The silvery sands, the beach shacks, the unending coastline and those special moments of retrospection make you feel alive and blessed. On the other hand, if you are of the fun-loving sort, head for Calangute in North Goa.

2.WATER SPORTS AND FUN ACTIVITIES:
What is Goa for if you choose not to indulge in some fun activities? Be it jet skiing, scuba diving, parasailing or windsurfing, you must experience them all to get the real flavor of the fun associated with Goa and the seas! Be adventurous and have a blast!

3.CRUISING ACROSS RIVER MANDOVI:
Board a cruise especially meant for tourists and enjoy a ride across the river. The best part is that during that 1 hour ride, you get to enjoy Goan music as well as performances too! Cruising across River Mandovi is real fun and if you have some good company with you, you can even tap your feet to the peppy music played by DJs and let your hair down.

4.TRYST WITH HISTORY AT BOM JESUS BASILICA:
It is an UNESCO Heritage World site that attracts millions of tourists as well as devout followers of Christianity from the entire world. The mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier have been preserved in this church which happens to be one of the oldest churches in Goa as well as in India. A visit to this place gives you goose-bumps and awakens a sense of awe and wonder. This is definitely a must-watch in Goa.

5.EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF THE LOVER’S POINT:
Dona Paula is a major tourist attraction in Goa. It is called the lover’s point or the suicide point, associated with the legend of the tragedy of two lovers- Dona and Paula. The spot offers a picturesque view of the sea and the coastline.

6.GET RELIGIOUS WITH TEMPLES:
There are many temples in Goa. Time may not permit you to visit them all. Hence, zoom in on a few of them. I chose to visit the Laxminarayan temple and the Mangueshi temple and loved the architecture of both.

7.THE DOLPHIN RIDE:
Take a dolphin cruise to take a look at the way these adorable friendly sea creatures pep in and out of the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. We boarded a speed boat from the Sinquerim beach to enjoy this ride to the world of dolphins! Indeed, it was a journey worth remembering.

8.UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE:
Goan culture is almost completely influenced by the portuguese and in order to understand the culture in a better way, make sure you visit the Goa state museum in Panjim or the Casa Araujo Alvares, a beautiful and grand 250- year old mansion that has been turned into a small museum in Loutolim.

You have the choice of opting for cashew feni or coconut feni if you want to taste some of Goan feni, which is very well-known. Whether you like the taste of this local spirit brewed in Goa or not, you should at least try it out to find what is special about this drink! In fact, feni is considered much more that a drink and is often used to treat a gamut of ailments too!

Dinner at beach shacks can be extremely romantic. You can even get your chairs and tables set on the beach, right close to the sea and enjoy a candle-light dinner! Wash your food down with a glass of glamorous red wine. Dinner at a beach shack is an experience and you MUST experience it when you are in Goa.
