Maybelline Dream Pure 8-in-1 BB cream – Review and Swatches

Hello Beauties,

This is my first review on Gupshupavenue, and I am very excited to contribute my reviews to all of our beautiful followers and readers. I must say when it comes to Bengalis, they are not only sweet but hotttt too just like our blog owner Kinkinee 😀 – Glad to be a part of GupshupAvenue ^_^

My first review will be on Maybelline Dream Pure 8-in-1 BB cream- With 2% salicylic acid/acne treatment. One of my friend picked it from USA starting this year and after checking so many online reviews, I thought let’s try USA wala BB creams because Indian wala Maybelline BB creams sucks big time :-@. Indian BB creams are just like tinted moisturizer; however my all time favorite BB cream is from Deborah Milano- I recommended it to so many friends of mine. Anyways let’s see what company claims and then I will give my thoughts on it.

What Company Claims: Maybelline’s 1st blemish fighting BB cream helps clear skin with 8 great skin benefits! With 2% salicylic acid. For combination and/or blemish-prone skin.

Why you’ll Love It: Their Dream Pure BB Cream is a 1-step wonder for healthy-looking skin today and clearer skin tomorrow. 2% salicylic acid is one of the highest percentages of this powerful blemish-fighter that you can get without a prescription, yet it’s gentle enough to use every day.

For Best Results: Apply a thin layer of Dream Pure BB cream on skin. Can be used with or without a moisturizer.

Maybelline is one of the well known recognized best drugstore brand available in market subjected to Makeup lines in the world. When Maybelline released Pure Dream BB creams in the market it was a huge success. We all know Salicylic acid is best known to treat acne and unclog pores * which is the main ingredients in this product* How innovative- a bb cream that not only gives coverage but also can help in fighting acne.

In terms of texture– It is really very smooth and blendable. It almost feels like gel cream that blends and sink into skin immediately. My only regret is the shade- Medium/deep is very dark for me; I have to use lighter shade setting powder to adjust it. I believe Light/medium or Medium should be fine ** I blame the store where these two shades were OOS ** L Maybelline Claims it contains 2% salicylic acid that fights against blemishes, yet it’s gentle enough to use every day- My skin is suffering a lot nowadays since weather change always gives me rashes mainly on my T-zone areas. I have few zits and redness going on around my nose and foreheads. I won’t say Maybelline Pure Dream BB creams fight and heals breakouts/acne but it definitely controls blemishes to grow further.

Let’s talk about the Claims:

  • Clears acne: Nope, It controls further exaggerating.
  • Conceals: the coverage is sheer.
  • Imperfections: It doesn’t cover imperfection or redness as the coverage is sheer but it does even out skin tone.
  • Minimizes look of pores: No, has no blurring effect.
  • Reduces appearance of redness: sheer coverage is not enough to cover redness but it can even out the area little bit.
  • Adjusts to skin tone: Not really! The brand has almost 5-6 different shade to choose from, therefore one can select accordingly.
  • Hydrates and smoothes: It hydrates little bit when applied after moisturizer (I have dry-combination skin) however for oily skin the texture is perfect. Yes it is smooth and blendable.
  • Enhances and clarifies skin: It enhances skin appearances little bit/ But Clarify- ahhh Nope!
  • Is oil-free, with a lightweight feel: yes absolutely lightweight, scentless oil free product.

Rating: 4/5

Maybelline Dream Pure BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm is lightweight- great for daily use ** however I recommend using setting powder on top** sheer coverage product, that’s even out skin tone. The unique oil free light weight acne treatment formula not only calm down breakouts but helps controlling it when used daily. It is an excellent product for those who are suffering from acne or blemishes, great fit for normal-combination skin types. BB creams are nothing but beauty balms with added skincare benefits.
